Brad Lincoln - Co-founder & President

Nickname: B-Rad, Brad-Dad, Mistah Lincoln... *all pending actual approval from Brad*. 
What I do at Funkwerks: Co-founder & President. 
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Solenna! Though it will never be made again... Well, maybe it will. 
Before Funkwerks: I worked in public accounting. 
When I fell in love with craft beer: I was underage in the Saginaw House cellar saloon in Flagstaff, AZ. It is now defunct. My roommate was a bartender and introduced me to several beers including Cream Stout by Sam Adams. It was delicious and I never looked back. 
Favorite part of my job: It would have to be between meeting all the incredible people in the craft industry and coming in at 10:00 in the morning. 
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Garrett Oliver but instead I accidentally spilled beer on him when Gordon and I met him a few years ago, when we crashed a party. 
The perfect Secret Santa gift: A box of expensive cheese and a kitten calendar. Laura bought me this a few years back! 
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Deceit aged in a whisky barrel with apples from the Tree of Knowledge.

Gordon Schuck - Co-founder & Head Brewer 

Nickname: The Schuck Machine; reluctantly accepted.
What I do at Funkwerks: Co-Founder and head brewer
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Our flagship Saison would be my favorite of our mainline series. 
Before Funkwerks: I was working in Steamboat for Moots Cycles building titanium bicycle frames. 
When I fell in love with craft beer: The first craft beer I liked was Celis White. That beer inspired me to start home brewing. 
Favorite part of my job: Creating new recipes and drinking beer. 
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Peter Bouckaert, because he is so knowledgable and he doesn't have too much hair on his head for when I kiss him. 
The perfect Secret Santa gift: A t-shirt with my face on it. 
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: A Saison made of unicorn tears. 
If I were a beer: I would be a Saison, because it's a traditional style that has creative freedom.

Nick - Cellarman
Been a member of the funky family since June 22nd, 2015.

Nickname: Old Man Jenkins and Fluffhead are probably the two most popular, but I’ll pretty much answer to anything you want to call me.
What I do at Funkwerks: Production 
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Tropic King or Oud Bruin
Before Funkwerks: When I first got to Colorado I was a milkman…yes, a milkman. Before that I was in craft beer sales in Oregon.
When I fell in love with craft beer: When I first moved to Oregon from Iowa in 2006. I lived with my sister and brother in law who are big craft beer drinkers. They got me into it and the rest is history!
Favorite part of my job: The people that I work with. It’s like a big family here and that makes any job a lot easier.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: I’m going to say all of them because I respect what brewers are doing to make craft beer what it is today. That answer may or may not be a cop-out. You decide. 
The perfect Secret Santa gift: For me? Beer always works!

If I were a beer:  I would probably drink myself.

Chris -  Plays with pipettes and petri dishes. AKA: Quality Control & Brewer

Favorite Funkwerks beer: Starless Night
Before Funkwerks: I was lost and wandering through life aimlessly.
When I fell in love with craft beer: I learned to drink beer while living in Germany, and was afraid my return to the US would mean no more good beer. I was wrong, obviously. My first craft beer was Eel River’s Amber Ale, and I’ve never stopped exploring the US craft beer scene since.
Favorite part of my job: Not needing a gym membership, cuz I get swoll every day at work.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Mark Ruedrich at North Coast Brewing Co. 
The perfect Secret Santa gift: A puppy. And a gift certificate to a puppy training course.
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Saison dry hopped with Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, and aged in elvish hewn mahogany barrels in Rivendell whilst being lovingly watched over by Gandalf, and then served to dwarves and hobbits. 
If I were a beer:  I would put hair on your chest.

Parker -  Cellarman
Been a member of the funky family since August 30th, 2016.

Favorite Funkwerks beer: Nelson Sauvin, it is oh so delicious.
Before Funkwerks: I was cooking, serving, or drinking/eating your food and beer at Twisted Pine Brewing.
When I fell in love with craft beer: I managed a liquor store when I was 22 and drank every beer on the shelf.
Favorite part of my job: Learning more and more every day.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Probably the Crooked Stave guys/gals; they truly changed my perception of what beer can be.
The perfect Secret Santa gift: Socks, I don't know why but, I always need socks.

Alex - Brewer

Before Funkwerks: QAQC technician at Meadow Gold Dairy, cultivation technician at Aurora Algae Inc., research associate at Montana St. University
When I fell in love with craft beer: After I started drinking Keystone Light and thought to myself, "there has to be a better way..."
Favorite part of my job: The people I work with!
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Whoever brews Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger.

Scott - Brewer

Favorite Funkwerks beer: We make beer?!!
Before Funkwerks: I was a brewer at a fantabulous brewery in Santa Cruz, CA - Discretion Brewing.  If in the area, check it out and say Scott sent ya (cue radio commercial music)!
When I fell in love with craft beer: Studying abroad in Germany - when the main option for alcoholic beverages is beer, you learn to cozy up to it!
Favorite part of my job: Winning bets against Alex!
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada Brewing - we all in the brewing industry owe a lot to the guys in Chico!

Cory - Packaging Supervisor
Been a member of the funky family since August 17, 2016. 

Nickname: Just Cory but I'll answer to anything.
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Everything barrel-aged.
Before Funkwerks: I managed restaurants.
When I fell in love with craft beer: When I worked at a Brewhouse.
Favorite part of my job: The people are hands down some of the best you'll meet!
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Whoever comes up with the recipes at 3 Floyd's! Everything they do is amazing!

Before Funkwerks: Studied philosophy, waited tables, and temped at local breweries.
When I fell in love with craft beer: In college my cousin was visiting and brought over an assortment of different beers. One of them was Three Philosophers from Ommegang... until then I had no idea beer could have that much complexity.
Favorite part of my job: The people. It's a great team to be a part of. We work hard, but have fun doing it.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: The folks over at Odd 13... I love me a hazy IPA.

When I fell in love with craft beer: I took a tour of New Belgium during a family vacation when I was 16 and I have been fascinated ever since.
Favorite part of my job: I can finally tell my mom that I found a way to make money while listening to Wu-Tang at high volumes.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: The folks over at Bierstadt Lagerhaus. I dream about their Slow Pour Pils at night.

Nickname: K-Train or The Tap Charmer
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Dark Prophet.
Before Funkwerks: I was slinging my amazing mixology drinks at the Dirty Bird. 
When I fell in love with craft beer: When I was 22 years old and I was introduced to my first sour beer. I knew at that point I would have a hobby for life.
Favorite part of my job: Spending day in and day out with some of the greatest co-workers anyone can ask for. As well as sharing great beers and conversations with the people that come visit us at the brewery.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: I would have to say Sam Calagione. I have never met him, but I have enjoyed his beers in the past. I first learned about him from a documentary called Beer Wars. Sam, as well as many others featured in that film, have made me really love this amazing industry.

What I do at Funkwerks: Slinging beers in the taproom! I also help with the online store and getting events details squared away.
Favorite Funkwerks Beer: Hive Mentality
Before Funkwerks:
I was serving up a bunch of beers over at The Mayor of Old town, playing around with pottery, and going to school for natural resources.
When I fell in love with craft beer: When I turned 21 and discovered all the options. I think my very first craft beer was Lost Continent double IPA from Grand Teton.
Favorite part of my job: Fellow co-workers and the regulars here are amazing. Such entertaining conversations.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Can I pick a brewery owner instead? Then i would pick Jensen Ackles, the star of my favorite tv show Supernatural. I am not sure if their beer is any good but he sure is handsome.
The perfect Secret Santa gift: Cheese, chocolate, beer... something to indulge in.
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Belgian Golden ale with 24 Carat Gold flakes, served in a ruby encrusted goblet.

Andrea - Beertender

Before Funkwerks: Slaving through grad school and finally earned a M.S. from CSU
When I fell in love with craft beer: When my friends in college tried to show me how good Summer Shandy was, and I knew there had to be something better. Living in Denver during the time where all of the now well-known breweries were popping up also helped.
Favorite Part of the Job: Definitely the atmosphere that the Funkwerks team and customers create together, its something else.. and something that I do not see at larger breweries very often. 
Kiss a craft brewer on the head: Tim Gormley from Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, North Carolina. Their beer is some of the best I've ever had, besides FW of course. 
Perfect Secret Santa Gift: Something you either can drink (obviously), a game of sorts, or something you can eat. I mostly hope that it can be something useful and not just a paper weight that I use until I can give it away the next year.
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Definitely something with kiwi in it... Kiwi Provincial anyone?

Laura - Sales
Been a member of the funky family since December 6th, 2010. 

Favorite Funkwerks beer: Hard to decide on one: Barrel: Rum Barrel Deceit, Oud Bruin; Limited release: Chai White!; Anytime of the year: Saison
Before Funkwerks: Working at a local restaurant as a bar manager and waiting for the perfect time to make a change.
When I fell in love with craft beer: I really started to appreciate craft beer when I moved to Fort Collins for college. We are spoiled with the luxury of having so many to choose from.
When I got the job at Funkwerks and I was given the opportunity to attend GABF for the first time (2011). Funkwerks took a silver medal for their Saison and the outpour of support and congratulations from the beer community and public was absolutely amazing. It is a great culture and community to be a part of and I’m lucky to be involved.
Favorite part of my job: Getting to meet so many friendly people from all over the United States, and sometimes world, that just want to get together and talk about their passion of beer. And of course getting to drink fantastic beers!
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Dan Carey from New Glarus. I don’t get a chance to have their beers very often but when I do I’m never disappointed.
If I were a beer (or a co-worker):  Gina would be a fruit beer infused with a pepper such as the Carolina Reaper pepper. She is sweet and spicy!

Favorite Funkwerks beer: Cognac Barrel-Aged Deceit and Solstice. Saison is my go-to. 
Before Funkwerks: I bartended at The Mayor of Old Town, and went to school for nothing directly relevant to my job. 
When I fell in love with craft beer: I was newly 21 shopping at Wilburs when I came across an 11.2 oz Delierium Nocturnum, on sale! It was probably old and oxidized, but I didn’t know the difference.
Favorite part of my job: The people. Beer people are rad. And beer is rad. 
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: Garrett Crowell at Jester King for brewing Snorkel, a beer inspired by German Gose brewed with oyster mushrooms. Mmmm, umami.
The perfect Secret Santa gift: A tracking device for my scissors and phone charger. 
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Funk Tart - A saison brewed with Pop Tarts. Ironically I'm not really a fan of Pop Tarts. The name Funk Tart just makes me happy. 
If I were a beer: I would be a sour beer, because I can be unexpectedly sour, but with time I get warmer and open up.

Michelle -  Graphic Design & Marketing

What I do at Funkwerks: I look at fonts and Pantone swatches all day.
Favorite Funkwerks beer: Deux Funk (but Raspberry Provincial will always be my main squeeze).
Before Funkwerks: I was spilling beer and drawing letters over at Jessup Farm Barrel House.
When I fell in love with craft beer: When early years of drinking Yuengling from my dad's beer fridge turned into seeking out the hoppiest IPAs I could get my hands on in Florida.
Favorite part of my job: Lunch time? No just kidding, it's sharing the joy of great beer with my coworkers and customers.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would be: The polished noggin of Jeff Albarella from Jessup Farm Barrel House!

What I do at Funkwerks: Mascot, model, and henchmen.
Favorite Funkwerks beer: The ones with malt.
Before Funkwerks: I was an understudy for the Pacman ghost, Blinky.
When I fell in love with craft beer: When Funkwerks hired me to twirl signs in front of the brewery.
Favorite part of my job: The fame and satisfaction of having my photograph printed on Funkwerks T-Shirts and posters.
If I could kiss a craft brewer on the head for brewing such delicious beer (besides Gordon, of course), he/she would it be: Other brewers exist? They don't let me out very often.
The perfect Secret Santa gift: A wider office chair that accommodates my voluptuous hips.
Favorite Mythical Funkwerks Beer: Winky's Wit. I think Gordon is starting to come around to the idea.
